Daniel Niebauer - Erie, PA (Visual Effect)
Daniel Niebauer is an active adjudicator, educator and visual designer. He is presently a member of the New York Federation of Contest Judges, the Ontario Drum Corps & Color Guard Judges Association as well as the Ny-Penn Judging Association, where he currently acts as the M & M caption chief. Dan is a level three adjudicator for WGI & DCI as well as a visual judge for DCA, CSJA, NJA, Penn. Fed., and BOA. He has been a guest judge for state and regional championships in Kentucky, Oklahoma, Tennessee, New York, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, Florida and Indiana, and Europe. He has designed, coordinated, and directed over 300 marching bands, drum corps, and color guards during the past 38 years, earning over 350 first place trophies and championships. Formerly a band director and teacher at Fairview High School and McDowell High School, Dan serves as a faculty member for the Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, specializing in jewelry and metallry design for both undergraduate and graduate students. Dan has given clinics all over the world for the visual captions specializing in drill design and most recently completed the 2008 DCI Tour and Championships judging many shows while writing the visual programs for 4 marching bands. Along with his wife, Janice, Dan owns and operates Ralph Miller Jewelers & Gallery, J & D Manufacturing Jewelers, Inc. and RMJ Restorations, Inc. They specialize in a custom designed line of fine gold and platinum jewelry called "Created Uniques," which can be found on the internet at www.created-uniques.com. Dan has exhibited nationally and internationally. Many of his pieces are held in private collections throughout the world.
Mike Loeffelholz – Anniston, AL (Visual Performace)
Mike Loeffelholz was the Director of Southwind Drum & Bugle Corps in Lexington, Kentucky. He has served in that capacity since the fall of 2002, and has also been program coordinator, visual designer, and visual caption head at various times for the corps. Mr. Loeffelholz has been involved in the marching arts for 30 years, including 25 with the Madison Scouts organization. Mr. Loeffelholz started as a performing member of the Madison Jr. Scouts and Madison Scouts, then went on to serve as visual instructor, visual caption head, and visual designer for the Scouts. He has been a visual designer for over 15 years, serving various drum corps, marching bands, and winter guards.
Bryan Crisp – Independence, KY (Music Performance)
Bryan Crisp is currently the Professor of Trumpet at Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio and is a member of the Cincinnati Ballet Orchestra. Mr. Crisp holds two undergraduate degrees from Tennessee Technological University in Music Education and Music Performance and a Master of Music degree from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM). Bryan was the former Assistant Director of Bands at Cumberland County High School in Crossville, TN and regularly gives clinics and visual and musical assistance to several bands in the tri-state area. As a performer, Bryan can be heard on seven recordings including the latest available through Summit Records titled Classic Hymns (DCD428, 2005). He has toured the United States extensively as a soloist and educator. As a member of Mr. Jack Daniel’s Original Silver Cornet Band and Tim Zimmerman and the King’s Brass, Bryan has performed as soloist in more than three dozen states, including appearances at the International Trumpet Guild Conference, Great American Brass Band Festival, Sacramento Jazz Jubilee, Mammoth Lakes Jazz Festival, Medford Jazz Festival, and Sun Valley Jazz Jamboree. Bryan has been a winner of the National Trumpet Competition (brass quintet division) and Tennessee Trumpet Competition (solo and duet divisions), and a recipient of the International Trumpet Guild’s 2001 Blackburn Scholarship. Mr. Crisp has performed with the Dayton Philharmonic, the Cincinnati, Nashville, Middletown, Kentucky, and Richmond Symphonies. Bryan also enjoys having an active teaching studio of advanced high school and middle school trumpet students in the Northern Kentucky area.
Perry Ralenkotter – Union, KY (Visual Performance)
Perry Ralenkotter is in his 23rd year of teaching and his 20th year as director of bands at Sunman-Dearborn Middle School in St. Leon, Indiana. He began his career in 1988 teaching in Cobb County, Georgia. In 1991 he began his career at S-DMS with 140 students. Within four years the program had grown to 445 students in grades six through eight. The Advanced, Concert, Discovery and Jazz bands at S-DMS have consistently received superior ratings at the Indiana State School Music Association festival and at other local festivals.
Mr. Ralenkotter is a native of Florence, Kentucky. He attended the University of Kentucky where he studied trumpet under the direction of Vincent DiMartino. Mr. Ralenkotter completed his student teaching with Dr. J. Steven Moore the then director of bands at Lafayette High School in Lexington, Kentucky. He completed a Master of Music in Music Education degree at the University of Kentucky in 2003. He is currently pursuing a D.M.A. at Boston University. He is a member of IMEA, NEA, Phi Mu Alpha, and USAT. Mr. Ralenkotter is a Yamaha clinician where he works with school systems and music programs on recruiting, retention and support for the arts.
Bob Gregg – Carlisle, KY (Music Performance)
Bob Greg retired in 2011 after 41 years of teaching. Most recently he was Band Director at Williamstown (KY) HS. Band under his direction have appeared in the KMEA State Championships 21 times d were crowned champions 8 of those times. His Harrison Co. HS Band won the State Fair Championship 15 times. His band consistently received distinguished ratings at concert festival. Bob is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University.
Joel Vincent – Winchester, KY (Music Effect)
Joel Vincent is Executive Director of Spirit of Atlanta Drum & Bugle Corps and former Band Director at George Rogers Clark HS in Winchester, KY.
