2003-04

In 2003 Shaun Owens was hired as Assistant Band Director.  Shane Mitchell left to become Band Director at Larue Co. HS.  The Marching Band performed Carmina Burana by Carl Orff.  The Band made finals at the Mid-States Championships in Beavercreek, OH and placed 10th overall.  The Symphonic and Concert Bands received Proficient ratings at KMEA District Concert Festival.  The Concert received a Distinguished in sightreading.

The Band took at trip during spring break to New York City.  While there they toured Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty, Chinatown, The Empire State Building and were treated to a jazz brunch at an upscale restaurant in Harlem.  They also saw the Lion King on Broadway and enjoyed a dinner dance cruise around Manhattan.
